Patient and Family Partner Program®
The nationally-recognized Patient and Family Partner Program trains and certifies volunteers who have experienced kidney failure themselves, or who have been part of the support team for a loved one with kidney failure, to serve as mentors and provide support to patients and caregivers. 

The next Patient and Family Partner Program Certified Partner training classes will take place in Harrisburg and York during the Spring of 2013.

Patient Emergency Assistance Program
Cash assistance for food, medicine and other incidental expenses is available through the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania for qualifying patients receiving dialysis treatment.  

Requests for assistance are communicated through social workers at the dialysis center or transplant programs in our region.

Organ Donor Awareness
Funded through a generous donation from the Fred M. Leader family, the goal of the Organ Donor Awareness program is to increase organ donations through community education and outreach, with a primary emphasis on living donor awareness.

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania CRDP Transportation Program
As an administrator for the Department of Health CRDP Transportation Program, the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania provides reimbursement for public,shared ride, and non-emergency transportation expenses incurred by dialysis patients in our region. 
Medical Identification Jewelry
Qualified kidney dialysis patients can receive life-saving medical alert bracelets or necklaces at discounted fees. Patients should speak with the social services director at their dialysis center for information and assistance with completing the order form.

Camp Kydnie
A special overnight camp designed especially for children ages 6 to 18 with kidney disease and their siblings and friends. Camp Kydnie is a Program Partnership of the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania and Camps for Spiffy Kyds Foundation.  Camp Kydnie takes place every year during the week after the fourth of July.

Located at Camp Victory ww.campvictory.org  in Millville, Pennsylvania, approximately 8 miles north of Interstate 80, exit 232 (Bloomsburg). 
Camp Kydnie provides a normal camping experience allowing for health and physical limitations, with emphasis on positive self-image, independence, and self-assurance.
 

 

 

Kidney Disease Outreach, Education, & Screening
The Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania staff and volunteers  provide community based screening programs, presentations, information, and corporate wellness and education on the risks for chronic kidney disease.
